Join co-facilitators of the Spiral Journey – Constance Washburn and Mutima Imani for a deep dive into the Work That Reconnects as experienced through a decolonizing and trauma informed lens. We will be using the practices of the Work That Reconnects to explore our Social Location; ethnicity, race, gender identification, spiritual and cultural beliefs, and look at how we all have been affected by traumatic events an ongoing stresses: disasters and accidents as well as experiencing or witnessing violence or on going oppression; systematic racism and genderism. Also it is a way to process our reactions to the past year of the pandemic as well as the social and political turmoil we have lived through.

A training in the skills and core concepts of the Community Resiliency Model (CRM) of the Trauma Resource Institute, for facilitators , educators, activists, organizers, community groups, first responders or healers working in this stressed and traumatized world.
CRM trains community members to not only help others within their networks but also to help themselves. These webinars will educate participants about the biology and neurophysiology of toxic stress and trauma as well as teach simple science based wellness skills which can help - reset and stabilize the nervous system.
The goal of CRM is to help create “ trauma informed” and “ resiliency-informed and focused” communities that share an understanding of the impact of trauma and toxic stress and how resiliency can be restored or increased using a skill-based approach. It has been used all over the world to help restore diverse communities who have suffered wars, natural disasters and more.
CRM melds very well with the goals, practices and values of the Work That Reconnects. In the webinars participants will learn how CRM skills relate to the different sections of the Spiral and how they can be integrated into the WTR practices. CRM skills also can give facilitators and others using WTR practices tools for addressing the needs of participants who are experiencing stress and traumatic responses to the world we live in today. The core goals of WTR and CRM are to build resilience in the face of the Great Unraveling so we can be our best most balanced selves for our work for the Great Turning

Debra Clydesdale LAC DNBAO RSME/T SEP CMT CDS has been helping patients feel more alive and free in their bodies for over 20+ years. She has extensive training in Oriental Medicine as well as Body Psychology and Somatic Techniques of Western science. CRM trained in 2020.
Constance Washburn - MA - Co-Director of the Spiral Journey- a Facilitator Development Program in the Work That Reconnects and on the core Weavers Team of the Work That Reconnects Network. She has studied and practiced WTR since the 90s and is a long time meditation, yoga and theatre practitioner. CRM trained in 2020.
